Entry one:
Knock Knock. My head whipped around, my eyes focused on the old door. No one even knew where I was, and even if they did, why would they visit? My family was long gone, and...I don"t have friends. The only possible explanation was that some old beggar was lost, saw the light from my windows, and decided to ask for help.
I shoved my gruel away and tip-toed to the door. Cracking it open, there stood one of the Kingom's soldiers, complete with armor.
"Can I help you, sir?" I asked politely, stepping outside.
"Miss, are you aware of the war that we are fighting against the Eastern Lands?" he asked.
"Yes, sir."
Then you understand that we need soldiers." At my nod he continued. "More importantly, we need cooks and nurses to look after the wounded."
"I'm sorry but I cannot help you. I'm not good with wounds or cooking." I went to go back inside, but the black-haired solider continued.
"How are you fighting, then?"
"You must be really desperate is you want me to fight." I raised my eyebrows. The last time I had trekked to the nearest town, women were ranked far bellow men.
"Miss, everyone must do thier job to win this war."
Unfortunatly, with my curse,,, I don't think I can be trusted around people, let alone weapons. "Look, sir, if I could, I would. But, I can't trust myself with a weapon. I'm sorry." I was sorry.
"Fine." The soldier's brown eyes hardend. "Then it's an order. You must fight."
"I...I can't." If he knew about the curse, he wouldn't even come near me after the last one...
"You have to. If you do not show up at the training grounds in the lake village, then we will be forced to bring you there ourselves." He stalked back to his horse. "Goodnight, Miss."
I stepping inside, my head spinning. No... I thought... I can't. I could feel the spell building up inside me, painfully hot. I began to cry. I can't show up, yet I have to. The pain became unbearable...until...
